Problem Statement

How might we help new university students overcome social integration challenges by fostering connections, providing clarity on assignments, and encouraging active participation in classroom discussions?

Research & Planning

We began with qualitative and quantitative research to understand user challenges like forming study groups and staying engaged. This was followed by competitor analysis to identify gaps in social and academic support. Finally, we created user personas to guide the design of a connection-focused solution.

Design & Prototyping

My design process began from foundational sketches to high-fidelity designs, refining layouts, navigation, and visual elements to ensure usability and engagement. Key features like creating and joining groups, scheduling events, and connecting with other students were developed and tested for seamless user interaction.


Testing & Optimization

The testing phase included think-aloud sessions revealing positive feedback on navigation and visual appeal, alongside suggestions for profile customization and interface refinement. Jakob Nielsen’s heuristics were applied to evaluate usability, highlighting areas for improvement. These methods ensured a thorough assessment of the app’s design and functionality
